Conferences
Conferences and meetings of the International Commissions are partly supported from funds derived from the members of IUPAP.
IUPAP supports conferences in two ways, by Sponsorship and by Endorsement.
IUPAP Sponsorship is granted to conferences in the final quarter of the year before the year of the conference, and may or may not include limited financial support of the conference. Conferences organisers seeking IUPAP sponsorship of their conference should refer to the IUPAP Policies for Conference Support, and submit the Application for Conference Sponsorship in the year preceding the year of the conference, and before 1st June of that year. Sponsored conferences should submit a report on the Report Form within two months of the close of the conference.
IUPAP Endorsement is given to conferences at any stage after they are organised. In particular, it is granted to conferences organised by Commissions in advance of their becoming sponsored conferences, and to conferences seeking IUPAP validation of their bone fides as physics conferences. Organisers seeking IUPAP Endorsement of their conference or meeting should arrange for the appropriate Commission Chair to submit the Conference Endorsement Form. The form available here is not active and cannot be submitted. It is available so to show the information which needs to be provided to the Commission Chair. If approved endorsement will allow the use of the IUPAP Logo on all promotional material relating to the conference or meeting. At the appropriate time, endorsed conferences may apply for sponsorship.
